Famotidine in the Treatment of Duodenal Ulcer

Abstract
|

|
The effect of 20 mg bid of famotidine was studied in 30 subjects with endoscopically proven duodenal ulcer.
24 of 30 (80%) healed with 4 weeks of treatment and 29 of 30 (96.7%) healed with 8 .weeks of treatment.
Day pain and night pain were´ markedly reduced in all patients and therapy was generally well tolerated. Fainotidine, therefore, proved effective in treatment of duodenal ulcer.
